Research, Projects & Events
What I worked on, what I contributed, and what the evidence shows.
Anime Rating Estimation & Leakage Analysis
I explored anime metadata and community ratings, then extended the coursework with a reproducible, explicitly AI-assisted evaluation and leakage audit.
- My role
- Course-project author; substantial Codex assistance in the later refactor
- Outcome
- Selected model: RMSE 0.4611 and R² 0.6233 on 1,943 held-out records; 38.6% lower RMSE than the mean baseline.

CAST-USA 2026 Conference Participation
I attended the CAST-USA annual conference and Global Innovation Summit in Pennsylvania and took part in the conference community.
- My role
- Conference participant
- Outcome
- Participated in CAST-USA’s 34th annual conference and Global Innovation Summit; photographs document the experience.

Media Poster Wall: A Flutter Team Project
I collaborated on a Flutter course app that brings movies, television, documentaries, and music albums into one browsing interface.
- My role
- Two-person project with Xingjian (Peter) Zhang
- Outcome
- Delivered media browsing, paginated results, detail views, and persistent local favorites using Flutter and REST APIs.

CPU Scheduling & Parallelism Simulator
Inspired by turn-taking in Texas Hold’em, I built a Python scheduling simulator and compared threads with processes on a CPU-bound workload.
- My role
- Student project author and classroom presenter
- Outcome
- Implemented FCFS, Round Robin, and Priority scheduling; explored 1, 2, 4, and 8 workers in concurrency experiments.

Concurrent Protocol Verification with PRISM
I modeled mutual-exclusion protocols in PRISM and examined safety, progress, waiting rewards, and deliberately faulty variants.
- My role
- Concurrent-protocol modeling and verification within a capstone team
- Outcome
- Verified properties of two 5,738-state Bakery models and exposed a mutual-exclusion failure in a faulty variant.

AI Face Forensics & CCSC Poster Award
I studied spectral and edge cues in generated versus real faces, controlled content differences, and presented the work at CCSC Eastern.
- My role
- Independent student researcher; academic guidance from Kathy Macropol
- Outcome
- ROC-AUC 0.7482 on a 400-image internal test; Second Place (Tied), Student Poster, CCSC Eastern 2026.
